We specialise in the sharpening of hairdresser scissors.
As a Grand Master sharpener, Steve understands quality of workmanship and how important it is to take the utmost care when dealing with your scissors. We understand that well-sharpened shears are vital for a clean, sharp, and accurate cut. We are able to sharpen both bevel and convex edges to precision finish.
We offer The Superior Tip, to provide extra fine control for precise work. Ask us about this service. Repair work on damaged shears and re-profiling of scissors will be quoted prior to service.
Your scissors are inspected and any problem areas such as nicks and blunt edges will be identified. We will then disassemble your scissors to check the washer and screws. Using specialised machinery together with specially imported stones to find and establish the rideline of your scissors and determine the amount of sharpening that will be required. After sharpening to a razor edge, your shears will be diamond polished and reassembled. Damaged washers will be replaced free of charge. Finger rubbers and bump stops will also be replaced if required free of charge. Your scissors will then be tested on fine rabbit pelt and when we are completely satisfied with the quality of our workmanship we will return your scissors.
Scissors can be mailed into our workshop. We ask that you carefully wrap your scissors to avoid damage in transit. If you are local, you may arrange to drop off and pick up your scissors at a convenient time.
